Thank you for your interest in our club. The course is open for play under the Guidelines imposed by the Governor's Administration. The clubhouse is open in accordance with the Covid-19 restrictions. While we are all anxious to be out golfing, Sharon Country Club is committed to the safety and health of our staff and members. We will continue to follow the guidance provided by the Masssachusetts Golf Association and Governor Baker's designation of essential businesses. We are prepared to quickly make changes and open more facilities as restrictions are lifted. Please observe all of the restrictions so that we may all stay healthy and stay open for golf.
In a town known for its wildlife sanctuaries, parks, and walking trails, Sharon Country Club is a refuge for people who are passionate about golf, friendship, and fun. Our private country club provides its members, families, and guests with an extraordinary facility for golf, socializing, and entertaining. With a unique and challenging golf course and a brand-new clubhouse opening this spring, Sharon Country Club maintains a warm and relaxed environment upholding its 120-year legacy.
Sharon Country Club is one of a number of iconic Massachusetts golf courses including Brookline, Pine Brook, Wellesley, Needham, Franklin, and Thorny Lea designed in the 1920s by Wayne Stiles. A contemporary of Donald Ross, Stiles designed courses to use the features of the natural landscape. The results are rolling fairways and greens with false fronts protected by mounded bunkers.
The course includes 10 holes of challenging golf. Outstanding conditions from the tee box, to rolling close-cropped fairways, and fast and true greens are maintained from the April opening until the first snow of December. The club also features exceptional practice facilities including a driving range with grass and mat tees and a short game practice area featuring sand bunkers, chipping areas and putting green.
Our club has a unique benefit that few clubs offer: No Tee Times. It’s a convenience loved by the membership. Members play on their schedule. It encourages an open and welcoming format for all members to meet and interact and for new members to fit into the social flow and fun of the club. The highlight of your round may not be a birdie, but could be a new friend. (Note that we have had to implement tee times in accordance with the coronavirus guidelines. We will return to our No Tee Time policy as soon as permitted.)
Tournaments and leagues for both men and women as well as open events for everyone to support competition and create opportunities to socialize on and off the course. The fun that starts on the course winds up in the clubhouse with stories over a beer or glass of wine and a hearty meal.
The opening of our new clubhouse promises to be the highlight of the 2020 season. It’s a clubhouse designed for the members. The grill room offers casual dining and friendly service with views of the 1st tee. Our dining room overlooks the 9th green and is a comfortable spot for a quiet and relaxing dinner. A wraparound porch, for outdoor dining, puts you even closer to the action.
Our membership is an interesting mix of warm, welcoming and enthusiastic golfers. Our course is challenging and a true test of your ability. Our clubhouse is spanking new and ready for fun and celebration. With limited openings, come join us while you can.
