Sharon Men's League
The Sharon Country Club Men’s League is an intra-club competition that is played on Thursdays beginning on the second Thursday in April and running through the third Thursday in September.
The format for League play is 9 holes with scoring using a quota system based on player handicap and past performance in the League. Each week each player is assigned a point quota. 4 points are awarded for birdies, 2 points for par, and 1 point for bogies. Each player is paired in a blind draw with another player. The combined score against the quota determines the winners.
There is a $10 entry fee per player. Prizes are awarded to the top three pairings and for skins.
League play culminates in September with the League Field Day tournament played on the third Saturday in September. Prizes are awarded to the top third of the field. The format is a bramble with one ball on par 3’s, 2 balls on par 4’s and 3 balls on Par 5’s.
TWI League
Sharon Country Club competes in TWI League matches against teams from Norfolk, Lexington, Franklin, Foxboro, Wampatuck, Needham, Harmon, Brockton, Milton Hoosic, and Furnace Brook Clubs. It is a competitive Two-Man Best Ball format match against teams from the local clubs in our area.
The season culminates with 2 rounds of playoffs to determine the league champ. There is also a field day typically played at an 18-hole course of a league member. The cost is approximately $27 per match per person which provides for dinner.
All Regular Active male members in good standing age 30 and older with a GHIN handicap index between 4.3 or Higher are eligible to join the Sharon CC Team. Home matches are played on Wednesdays and away matches are usually played on Thursdays.
